Webs It was late evening when Humbert parked in front of the house. The real estate agent was waiting for him on the lawn. Humbert got out of his car and walked over to the man. The dry ground crunched as Humbert stepped on it. He also noticed that all the crickets sounded far away. The whole place seemed kind of off and different than the rest of the nice town he had just driven through. â€Å"Hello, I’m Humbert Smith,† he introduced himself to the real estate agent. Humbert glanced down at the agent’s name tag. In sloppy handwriting was written: Adam Chadwick. He was a bald, overweight man with a red, sweaty face. There was no answer. He frowned and decided to go look for the man in case he was in trouble. Humbert reached into his suit pocket and took out his phone. He turned it on and put the brightness all the way up to one hundred percent. He walked forwards through the doorway which Adam had gone. Every step he took creaked loudly in the silence. â€Å"There are a lot of spiderwebs, aren’t there,† Humbert said to himself, shining the light around the walls of the hallway. This house was old, but were there really this many spiders? Humbert found a door that had recently been opened judging by the lack of dust on the handle. The door squeaked open and Humbert shone the light from his phone inside. He was greeted with a horrible sight. The room was huge; the biggest room in the house. The walls were draped with webs. Everywhere, like giant sheets covering the room. There were thousands of bugs stuck inside of the layers of webbing. That was disgusting in itself but what really horrified Humbert was something much worse. A giant spider was standing at the other end of the room. It was dark brown and was about the size of Humbert’s car. The arachnid clacked its mandibles and scuttled over to something. It was now standing over a large bundle of webbing. The
